With the promise of a blood red orb in the night sky, any thoughts of sleep were set aside.
Twas late at night, as we drove into the night. The car was loaded with gear as we drove out of the city in search of the darkest area from which to shoot the lunar eclipse.
What do you think, should we have been sleeping too?
We stayed up too, but we had more light so it wasn’t that spectacular. Amazing sky for viewing though.
Believe it or not, after driving out to the Gateway Trailhead area on McDowell Mountain Preserve for the shoot, we returned home and Jeff shot the second photo from the back balcony. Turns out the ambient light was not critical for the picture.
I’m glad you guys got a shot of this so I could see. I was planning on getting up to see for myself, but unfortunately it was snowing here, so that wasn’t an option.
