“Photographing Nature in the Desert”
Join award-winning photographer Kathryn Dannay to learn how to improve your desert photography. Focusing on photographing nature, Kathryn will review composition guidelines, and then walk through the different nuances of photographing landscapes, versus flora and fauna. She will also cover tips and tricks and gear suggestions while sharing beautiful photos taken in and around the McDowell Mountains.
If you are new to photography, this presentation will provide a great overview for getting started. If you are an intermediate photographer, this will be a good refresher with the opportunity to pick up a few tips.

Kathryn and Jeff Dannay share their photography experience in their presentation: “Ten Easy Steps to Improve Your Vacation Photos.” Whether your camera is a smart phone, compact, or DSLR, Jeff and Kathryn will share practical tips that can make a difference on your next photo. They cover how to prep for the shot, techniques to improving photo composition, lighting considerations, and making use of the surrounding environment. Quick vacation tips will also be shared as well as ways to preserve your vacation memories. [90 minutes]

Have you ever returned home from a trip and looked through your photos only to realize that you missed capturing so many elements of your vacation? Capturing your holiday experience is more than a taking a photo of an iconic monument. Join Jeff and Kathryn Dannay of Sweet Light Photos for their presentation on “Don’t Miss a Shot”, as they walk through ideas on photographing different aspects of your travels in order to preserve your vacation memories.

Namibia an amazing place for a photographer who enjoys a variety of photography genres. Namibia offers amazing landscapes, an abundance of wildlife, unique flora, old architecture and original culture. The Namib desert is one of the oldest in the world with some of the highest sand dunes, unique flora from Quiver trees to Camel Thorn Trees, ghost towns (most notably Kolmanskop), and original African tribes (notably the Himba and the Sans Peoples). What other country can you find with such a rich variety of photographic subjects?
Join Jeff and Kathryn Dannay behind the lens as they share their images and experiences from their recent trip to Namibia. Both Kathryn and Jeff will talk through images from several of the iconic locations and discuss what considerations were taken to capture the image.

Kathryn also dives deeper into a few of the most beneficial ways to share your work. She discusses how each channel works, what they offer and when and why you might want to use them. “African Safari and Wildlife Photography”
Come with us on a 90 minute tour of a wildlife safari from the Maasai Mara in Kenya, Africa. We will share with you the people and the animals that are native to this spectacular area. And, with each photo, there is story! We will also interject photo tips and techniques along the way. [90 minutes]

Come with us on a 90 minute tour of Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam. We will share with you the people and cultures native to these wonderful countries. And, with each photo, there is story! We will also interject photo tips and techniques along the way. [90 minutes]
“India”
Come with us for a 60 minute exploration of the culture and wildlife of northern India. Highlights of the presentation include a visit to Varanasi (considered the spiritual center of India), Agra with the magnificent Taj Mahal, Tiger safari in Ranthambore, the blue city of Jodhpur and the golden city of Jaisalmer. The presentation also includes a survey of the unique and beautiful birds found in the foothills of the Himalayas. [60 minutes]
