Capturing fall color takes a bit of luck. The luck is having the colors where you hope to shoot when you hope to shoot them.
A trip to the Historical Wayside Inn area was timed perfectly. The colors were just coming into their fullness, and the early morning light only served to enhance the color.
As luck would have it, 24 hours later the color was gone. The tree, just left of the chapel, had dropped its leaves and the orange on the tree in front had turned brown.
It’s all about the light (and a little bit of luck).
