Eating, Drinking and Smoking

It has been nearly two months of staying at home. Like many of our fellow Americans, we are exhausting Netflix and Kindle books. We have increased our food intake and most certainly our alcohol intake. What else is there? We decided to light ’em up!

Eating

We’ve been eating like king and queen as Jeff has perfected his many recipes from Chicken Parmigiana to Thai Basil Chicken, to Tamale Pie, to Roasted Chicken a la Thomas Keller, and so on. Not to be outdone, Kathryn has been baking up a storm. Lemon cookies, ginger snaps, chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, and homemade Belgian waffles, to name a few. Needless to say we are eating well and making the most of being at home.

Drinking

Another outcome of the endless sheltering in place is that time has become almost irrelevant. Happy hour at 2pm, sure, why not? Pour me another, they are yummy. With all this extra good food and beverages, we are working on the COVID 19 as opposed to the Freshman 15. Not wanting to know how close we are to the 19 pounds, we retired the scale to garage. It doesn’t matter if we get a bit dumpy, we don’t see anybody!

Smoking

After eating and drinking, what’s left, but smoking. This afternoon we lit it up for the first time, spending the afternoon with smoke, lights, and our ever-present cameras.

After two hours of intense incense burning, we smelled like we spent the day in a temple. A little light-headed, it was time for our mid-afternoon nap.

Remember, it’s all about the light.
